poster analysis

the target audience would more middle-aged men and women who are educated in political injustice. This poster is about a documentary on a former police officer and security guard who killed 39 black people in the late 1980s. the timing of the killings will explain the age of the target audience as they may remember the case and want to watch the documentary and learn more about the tragic killings. The deep maroon, red as the background colour may resemble the blood that he has shed in his past which is why the colour is behind him. The font is bold and bright and contrasting the rest of the poster this may resemble his crimes coming to light and his actions being accounted for. The silhouette of the killer is the centre of the poster to show that he is the focus of the documentary but not the only focus. Him being place behind his name may show that he is forever chain to the name he created for himself.

the target audience would be environmental activist from the more left-wing side of politics mainly targeted towards middle-aged men and women however could target the younger audience as climate change is getting progressively worse. The documentary is about the global climate change crisis that features Leonardo DiCaprio. The posters show a tree as the main image on an island that is half healthy and vibrant and the other side being dull and dead this may represent the inevitable damage to the environment approaching and what we will be living instead of saving what we have now. We can also see sun hidden behind clouds this may represent that there is hope for a bright future, but it is ignored by the people who can make a difference. The font is black and the “before” is in bold which may be trying to get the message across that the irreversible change has not happened yet and there is still time to redeem ourselves.

The target would be middle class middle aged men an women who are outdoor extremist. The documentary is about the 2008 K2 disaster. It investigates the events of August 1, 2008, when 11 climbers died on K2. The grey and white colour scheme may represent the snowy mountain and cold conditions  could also emphasises little hope and positive outcome to the expedition. However the title being a bright red may resemble the danger that comes with climbing the summit. The people in the poster being presented as small could resemble that they are helpless when it comes to the mountain and are at it mercy as the conditions they will face are treacherous. We also see someone falling being held up by a rope this could infare we see people loose their life to this mountain.
